Joe began studying Shotokan Karate in 1981 in Brooklyn, New York with Sensei
Alex Sternberg. In the early days of his career he focused on competition during which time he won 9 National gold medals and 4 international gold medals. He spent 5
years on the US Karate Team. Now Sensei Joe’s focus is teaching.
